Another Nebraska buck down!

Congrats Paul! Here's what happened.

I was out scouting a new area sitting on the ground when I spotted him a 1000 yds away. It was wide open in tall grass, I got about 100 yards and snort weezed and he walked within 20 feet!

Nebraska weather

Like anywhere, the deer really shut down when it's hot. Cold weather is coming soon and it should get them up and moving again.

Dismal river pictures

From the Nebraska camp. Lots of deer on their feet already, and some nice bucks! Look close at the picture which appears to have nothing in it. Behind a few branches in the center is a 130+ class 10pt! The name "Dismal" just isn't fitting.

Update from Paul in Nebraska

What a perfect day we had today, hung a bunch of stands for next weeks customers, found some sheds and seen lots of fresh rut sign. I sent my guide to watch the river bottom and I went out to a picked corn field. I sat on the ground next to a round bail, I just started eating my apple when a 140 ten point came out of the woods I was looking over. I must of had a horseshoe in my pocket because he came right to me, I kept thinking, this is the first night I don't want to end it so soon. He ended up 5 feet from me! I saw another 15 bucks and about 50 does, what a first night!

Nebraska mule deer and whitetail hunts

There's still a bit more room for rifle hunters to come out with us this fall. The mule deer hunting is excellent, with plenty of whitetails in the area as well. Nebraska tags are sold over the counter so this hunt can still be a possibility for you this fall!

Kicking off the season in Nebraska!

We start the 2011 season with some southern boys from Louisiana in our Nebraska camp. After that, it's off to Iowa! Stay tuned for up to date pictures and progress. Good luck everyone and hunt safe!
